Ran is a chief physician who is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Professional Group of the Seventh Committee of Chinese Medical Imaging Technology; a member of the Standing Committee of the Reproductive Health and Eugenics Ultrasound Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Ultrasound Engineering in Medicine; and a member of the Standing Committee of the Fetal Heart Disease Prevention Committee of the China Maternal and Child Health Association.

She also serves as vice-chairwoman of the Chongqing Ultrasound Medical Engineering Association; chairwoman of the First Committee of Prenatal Ultrasound Professional Committee of the Chongqing Ultrasound Medical Engineering Association; deputy editor-in-chief of the Editorial Board of Journal of Clinical Ultrasound in Medicine; and a guidance expert of the Ultrasound Professional Committee of the Chinese Non-Government Medical Institutions Association.

Among her other titles and responsibilities are the leader of the Prenatal Ultrasound Quality Control Expert Group of the Chongqing Obstetric Medical Quality Control Center and technical expert team leader of the Prenatal Ultrasound Ability Improvement Project; deputy leader of the Obstetrics, Gynecology and Pediatrics Group of the Seventh Committee of the Chongqing Medical Association; a member of the expert group reviewing the levels of primary medical and health institutions of the Chongqing Health Commission; and deputy head of the Cardiovascular Group of the Pediatrician Branch of the Chongqing Medical Doctor Association.

Medical diagnosis and treatment field and expertise: Ran has been engaged in ultrasound diagnosis and treatment for more than 20 years, boasting rich experience in ultrasound diagnosis and ultrasound interventional diagnosis and the treatment of abdominal, cardiovascular, superficial organs, and obstetrics and gynecology diseases. She is skilled at fetal malformation screening, and the ultrasound diagnosis of gynecological uterine malformation, ectopic pregnancy and pelvic tumors.

Published works and other projects: She has presided over or participated in seven major projects, won three scientific research and technology awards from the district science and technology commission and the Chongqing Health Commission, and published 15 papers, including one collected by the Science Citation Index (SCI) and three core papers stored by the Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD).
