Zhang is a postgraduate supervisor and an associate researcher who is currently the vice chairman of the Youth Committee of the Reproductive Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and an expert on the evaluation team of new medical projects in Chongqing.

Medical diagnosis and treatment field and expertise: Zhang is skilled at pre-implantation embryo selection, male infertility and infertility-related genetic screening.

Published works and other projects: He has undertaken one national project, two multi-center clinical research projects, and three scientific research projects at the provincial-ministerial level. He has won two third-place prizes of the Chongqing Science and Technology Progress Award. He has published more than 10 papers collected by the Science Citation Index (SCI) as the primary author/corresponding author in HUMAN REPRODUCTION UPDATE, REPRODUCTIVE BIOMEDICINE OLINE, HUMAN FERTILITY, etc., and obtained one national invention patent authorization. Since 2009, he has been an invited reviewer of BMJ, a world-leading general medical journal.
