Zhou is a member of the High-Risk Newborn Management Group of the Neonatal Expert Committee of the China Maternal and Child Health Care Association, a member of the Pediatrics Branch of the Chongqing Medical Association, a member of the Cardiovascular Group of the Pediatrics Branch of the Chongqing Medical Association, and the vice-captain of the sixth batch of Chinese medical aid team to Barbados.

Medical diagnosis and treatment field and expertise: He is mainly engaged in clinical treatment, scientific research, and teaching of critically ill newborns and premature infants and is adept at mechanical ventilation treatment of neonatal respiratory diseases, bedside ultrasound of newborns, and comprehensive treatment of ultra-premature infants.

Published works and other projects: Zhou has participated in two research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and one of Hong Kong RGC research projects. He has presided over one Chongqing Natural Science Foundation project, one general project of Chongqing Health Commission, and one for appropriate technology promotion. He has published four SCI papers and obtained one national invention patent.
