Miao Jingkun
Miao is a supervisor for doctoral and master's degree students, and the director of the Newborn Disease Screening Center. She is a high-end medical talent in Chongqing and a senior research scholar at the University of Maryland, the United States.
She also serves as a standing member of the Genetic Metabolic Diseases and Vitamin Metabolism Committee of the China Maternal and Child Health Association, a member of the Rare Disease Association of the Chongqing Medical Association, and leader of the birth defect prevention and control study team of the Perinatal Medicine Branch of the Chongqing Medical Association.
She specializes in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric thyroid and genetic metabolic diseases, as well as genetic diagnosis and counseling.
She has chaired one project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, three provincial-level projects, and one innovation and entrepreneurship program for international students.
She has published 23 SCI papers and 15 CSCD papers, obtained two national invention patents, participated in writing the monograph titled "Laboratory Management of Newborn Screening and Prenatal Diagnosis", and contributed to one consensus.
She has also won the first prize of the Science and Technology Award of the China Birth Defect Intervention Assistance Fund.
