The Gynecology Pelvic Floor Urology Center of the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (Women and Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University), or CQHCWC, is the first department in Southwest China that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction and tumors.

It has 42 patient beds, with about 30 percent of surgeries being classified as grade IV. CQHCWC has achieved a nationally-advanced level in diagnosing and treating pelvic floor dysfunction diseases and has developed several innovative pelvic floor reconstruction techniques. The department can perform various pelvic floor surgeries through diversified methods.

CQHCWC is a member unit of the pelvic floor rehabilitation training center of the Biofeedback Foundation of Europe, the "Yi Nuo Chuan Fang" pelvic floor rehabilitation training center of the China Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, and the western gynecological oncology specialty alliance.

The department annually hosts a "pelvic floor rehabilitation training course" to share advanced technology and experience. It also trained over 10 sub-professional technical teams that can independently perform pelvic floor surgery at primary hospitals, which enables more patients to receive standardized pelvic floor surgery locally. The number of operations carried out by the department is among the highest in the country.

Specialties

The department has reached the nationally advanced level for diagnosing and treating pelvic floor dysfunction diseases and has developed several innovative pelvic floor reconstruction techniques. It is capable of performing various pelvic floor surgeries through diversified methods, such as anterior, middle and posterior pelvic organ prolapse reconstruction, anti-urinary incontinence surgeries, surgical correction of genital malformation, and genital fistula repair. The surgeries are minimally invasive, achieve significant improvement, and have a low recurrence rate.

Moreover, the department is equipped with a series of pelvic floor and urology-assisted diagnosis and treatment technologies, including urodynamic testing, pelvic floor function screening, pelvic floor function rehabilitation, and more, to satisfy the diverse needs of patients.

In the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological benign and malignant tumors, the department can carry out transabdominal and laparoscopic surgeries, such as radical resection of deep endometriosis, radical resection of cervical cancer, comprehensive staging of endometrial cancer, and other surgeries that preserve reproductive function. These surgeries are minimally invasive, specialized, and individualized.
