Gynecology First Department (General Gynecology Department)

As a key department of the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (Women and Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University), or CQHCWC, the Gynecology First Department (General Gynecology Department) boasts a highly skilled medical team that offers high-quality services.

Currently, the department has 88 beds; performs more than 5,000 surgeries each year; has an annual outpatient capacity of more than 80,000; and annually discharges more than 6,000 patients.

It mainly focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of intrauterine diseases such as gynecological benign and malignant tumors, heterotopic pregnancies, scar pregnancies, intrauterine adhesion, endometrial polyps, uterine incision diverticulum, cervical insufficiency, and uterine and vaginal abnormalities. The diagnosis and treatment of intrauterine adhesions and scar pregnancies have reached leading levels in Southwest China.

The department is currently a national standardized training base for gynecology and obstetrics resident physicians, a hysteroscopy technology standardized training base in Chongqing, and is the China-France gynecological endoscopy cooperation center, among others.

The department has presided over 10 projects at the Provincial-Ministerial level and five projects at college level. It has also obtained two invention patents and seven utility model patents. So far, the department has published 68 papers, of which eight have been collected by the Science Citation Index (SCI) and 22 have been titled as core papers for the Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) and the Source Journal for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations.

The department has successively won honorary titles such as "Excellent Party Branch of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee", "Advanced Grass-roots Party Branch of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee", and "Advanced Ward for High-quality Nursing Services in Chongqing City", among others.

Technical expertise

Focused on minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries, and supplemented by trans-vaginal and other natural channel surgeries, the department advocates individualized, minimally invasive, and rapid recovery services. Additionally, it vigorously promotes day surgeries to minimize hospitalization time and reduce hospitalization costs.
