Second Chongqing English speech contest concludes at CQHCWC

The final contest of the 2nd Chongqing Women and Children Health English Speech Competition was held on Sept 28 at the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (Women and Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University), or CQHCWC, in Southwest China's Chongqing.
The event, sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, aims to improve services offered by maternal and child health institutions in the city and train workers with an international vision. It attracted more than 12,000 online and onsite viewers.
Liao Yongqian, a senior official from the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, Wang Hao, deputy director of the Division of Maternal and Child Health of the commission, and Li Fang, vice-president of the CQHCWC attended the event.

Since the launch of the contest, a total of 79 contestants from 33 districts and counties in the city have signed up for the event, and 36 contestants from 15 districts and counties entered the finals following two rounds of competition.
The final contest included two parts - propositional speech and impromptu speech. In the first part, contestants discussed women and children's health, while the impromptu speech section showcased the excellent English expression skills of the contestants.
The CQHCWC will use the contest to further expand international cooperation and exchange, strengthen the comprehensive English abilities of medical staff members, and enhance the foreign-related service level, so as to promote the high-quality development of the maternal and child health sector in the city.
