The Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (Women and Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University), or CQHCWC – located in Southwest China's Chongqing – sent 10 doctors to maternal and child health care hospitals in Chongqing's Tongliang and Qianjiang districts and its Xiushan and Wushan counties on Sept 13.

The aim was to boost the development of the Chongqing Maternal and Child Health Specialty Alliance, promote the training of primary medical and health personnel and improve the service of primary medical institutions.

CQHCWC vice-president Zhou Wei led the team to Wushan county and licensed Wushan maternal and child health care hospital as a CQHCWC guidance hospital.

Doctors sent by the CQHCWC were mainly from its gynecology, obstetrics, neonatal and ultrasonography departments.

The goal is to establish an effective primary personnel cultivation and technical training mechanism, as well as a more stable critically-ill patient referral channel. It is hoped this will improve the diagnosis and treatment levels and treatment capacity of primary maternal and child health care institutions – and promote their high-quality development.

As the leading unit in the city's maternal and child health care system, the CQHCWC has achieved a significant progress in the development of medical technology, disciplines, talent training, scientific research innovation and more.

It has sent 25 doctors to work with members of the Chongqing Maternal and Child Health Specialty Alliance, to help carry out new technologies and new projects. They also helped strengthen their specialist capacities, further optimized their service processes, improved service levels and bolstered the medical quality – contributing a lot to the high-quality development of Chonqing's maternal and child health care sector.
