CQHCWC hosts training session on anesthesia and analgesia

The Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (Women and Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University), or CQHCWC, in Southwest China's Chongqing, held the 2022 gynecology and obstetrics anesthesia and analgesia training session on Aug 27.

Held simultaneously were the gynecology and pediatrics anesthesia and analgesia standardized management summit and the gynecology and obstetrics anesthesiology group meeting.

The events, held both online and offline, had up to 7,000 online viewers at once.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Wang Jian, secretary of the Party committee of the CQHCWC, said that the center's Anesthesiology Department is an important platform for ensuring its safe operation.

She said that the forum focused on anesthesia theoretical knowledge and clinical skills and hoped that attendees would gain much and contribute more to the protection of women and children's health.

More than 10 well-known experts and scholars in gynecology and pediatric anesthesia gave lectures on topics ranging from the current situation of obstetric anesthesia and childbirth in China, epidural anesthesia treatment in obstetrics, and perioperative anesthesia for intrapartum fetal surgery to benefits and potential risk management of epidural labor analgesia.

The experts were from the Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the Women's Hospital School of Medicine Zhejiang University, and the Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center, among others.

Attendees also discussed new technologies, new progress, new theories and other difficulties and important topics in the field of gynecology and pediatric anesthesia.

At the closing ceremony, Qi Hongbo, president of the CQHCWC, said that the forum provided a good platform for the academic exchange of gynecology and pediatric anesthesia in western China and is of great importance to ensuring the perioperative safety of women and children. He expects that related staff will combine clinical work with scientific research and strive to further improve clinical quality.
