Li Rong, a doctor at the Children's Health Care Department of the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) located in Southwest China's Chongqing, has recently become well-known online after saving three people's lives.

At about 11 am on March 13, when Li was on her way to visit her family in Yubei district, something went wrong at a sewer dredging site in Kangmei sub-district of Liangjiang New Area, resulting in the poisoning of four workers by biogas, leading to them losing their consciousness.

Li immediately took action. She first checked the carotid artery and heartbeat of a worker, the first saved from the sewer, and found they were hard to detect. She then immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and artificial respiration.

"I didn't know what was going on at that time. I was just thinking about the professional operation I had been trained for," Li said.

Scarcely five minutes later, the first patient started breathing again, and Li put her hand on the man's neck again and felt his pulse. After confirming that the man's heartbeat and pulse were gradually recovering, Li handed him over to other medical professionals and began helping the second man.

When the third worker was saved from the sewer, the second worker had regained consciousness with Li's help. Seeing that the third worker had already been rescued by people, she began helping the fourth worker.

It was then that an ambulance arrived and the patients were loaded aboard.

Over the course of more than 10 minutes, Li compressed the rescued workers' chests more than 1,000 times.

Li felt embarrassed after receiving so much attention online. "Of course I saved them. That's my instinct as a doctor", she said.
