Experts from the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC), located in Southwest China's Chongqing, visited 12 districts and counties in the city from Feb 14 to 17 to carry out quality control and evaluation work on maternal and child health information.

Under the guidance of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, the work is meant to improve the quality of data in the annual report on maternal and child health.

Expert groups – formed by CQHCWC experts and some primary maternal and child information staff members – visited hospitals and health centers in 12 districts and counties one by one.

They evaluated the quality of maternal and child health information in each district and county, following meetings and references to related systems, data reports, basic registration, and medical records.

In response to the problems found in quality control, such as low data quality and lack of information management for floating populations, experts offered feedback and rectification advice.

The quality control and evaluation work is believed to help improve the management of maternal and child health information in districts and counties citywide.
