Obstetrics Fourth Department

The Obstetrics Fourth Department of the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children, or CQHCWC, is a sub-specialty of the Obstetrics Department that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension during pregnancy (preeclampsia), diabetes during pregnancy (level A2), and immune system diseases during pregnancy.

The department ward is divided into the fourth and eighth wards, providing 56 beds for patients. It currently has 14 physicians, including two deputy chief physicians, six attending physicians, and six resident physicians. Following years of clinical work experience, medical workers in the department know how to handle various dystocia, obstetric comorbidities and complications, such as placenta previa, abruptio placentae, scarred uterus, etc. They can also handle various emergencies and critical situations, such as massive bleeding and eclampsia.

The department is one of several treatment centers and referral centers for critically ill pregnant women in Chongqing. Patients are mainly from Jiangbei district, Hechuan district, Tongnan district, Chengkou county, Liangjiang New Area, and other districts and counties in the city. The department gives full play to its responsibilities as a municipal-level critical pregnant women treatment center, adhering to standardized diagnosis and treatment standards, and establishing an obstetrics in and out-of-hospital referral system and procedures along with other sub-specialties of the Obstetrics Department so as to optimize emergency and first-level emergency cesarean section procedures and ensure the safety of patients.
