A delegation from the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children, or CQHCWC, in Southwest China's Chongqing on Dec 14 visited the Chengdu Women's and Children's Central Hospital – which is located in Chengdu, capital city of Southwest China's Sichuan province.

Led by Wang Jian, secretary of the CQHCWC's Party committee, the visit aimed to promote the integrated development of the health sector in the two areas.

The CQHCWC delegation members visited the hospital's skills center, its library, good clinical practice (GCP) institution office, obstetrics and other facilities, before attending a meeting with officials from the Chengdu hospital.

Lin Yonghong, secretary of the Party committee of the Chengdu hospital, gave a briefing on the hospital's general situation, its personnel and the development of a medical consortium, among other things.

The two sides also exchanged views on their partnership in such fields as scientific and technological innovation and personnel training, based on a cooperation framework agreement signed in June.

They also held discussions focusing on a remote consultation system for the women and children health sector in the two areas.

CQHCWC's Wang highly commended the Chengdu hospital for its achievements in areas including setting industry benchmarks and leading medical practice in its field in the city – and said that the two hospitals had both sought high-quality development and transformation in the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).

She hoped that they would jointly optimize measures and strengthen their partnership.

This would, she added, help to improve the overall level of regional maternal and child health services and form a national demonstration cooperation result in three to five years. This achievement would promote the high-quality development of the Chengdu-Chongqing maternal and child health system, Wang concluded.
