The first nursery institution management training session and infant care forum for nursery institutions in West China were recently held online in Southwest China's Chongqing.

The events were held by the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission and undertaken by the Chongqing Infant Nursing and Care Guidance Center, which was established at the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) on Oct 29.

More than 86,000 people from around the nation participated in the online events, including attendees from the childcare, infant care, and preschool education service industries, as well as medical and health professionals from maternal and child health care institutions.

Three directors of the CQHCWC, namely Zhou Xiaojun, director of the Community Health Care Division, Wang Nianrong, director of the Children's Health Care Division, and Zhao Yan, deputy director of the Children's Health Care Department, co-hosted the events.

A total of 12 industry experts from Beijing, Nanjing, Chongqing and other places were also invited to give 13 lectures on topics ranging from the health care work of nursery institutions and care services for infants and children aged 0-3 to first aid treatment, psychological and emotional development, nutritional feeding, and the cognitive development of infants and young children.

Questionnaires were organized both before and after lectures. The results indicated that the training was effective.

Attendees also recognized that the forum was scientifically cutting-edge, well-directed, and highly professional, and it played a positive role in improving the quality of industry services.

As the first national-level infant care service training event held by the newly-unveiled Chongqing Infant Nursing and Care Guidance Center, the event indicated that the city's infant care services have entered a standardized and substantive implementation stage.

Moving forward, the CQHCWC will continue to improve the quality of medical services and the ability to guide infant and child care work so as to promote the high-quality development of the city's infant care services and promote the healthy growth of children in the city.
