The Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) in Southwest China's Chongqing held a municipal postnatal care training session on Sept 28 to promote the development of the postnatal care sector and improve the city's diagnosis and treatment services in the sector.

Presided over by Zhang Haiyan, director of the CQHCWC Women's Health Care Department, the session was attended by nearly 100 postnatal care workers from various districts and counties.

During the opening ceremony, Wang Jian, secretary of the Party committee of the CQHCWC, emphasized the importance of postnatal care and praised the center's achievements in the sector.

Following that, 10 municipal experts gave lectures on topics including the interpretation of postnatal care guidelines, standardized management requirements for postnatal family visits, and the postnatal management of high-risk pregnant and lying-in women. They also shared information about typical cases.

The training session is believed to have improved postnatal care capabilities among maternity and child health care institutions in the city's districts and counties.
