The Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) in Southwest China's Chongqing recently conducted its first breast ductoscope followed by immediate biopsy, which was highly praised by the patient.
In conventional diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases, a breast ductoscope is usually performed separately from surgical treatment as a means of examination. During such a procedure, patients have to spend much time at the hospital for examination, waiting for reports, and queuing for surgery, which delays tumor treatment.
The CQHCWC has initiated a procedure consisting of a breast ductoscope followed by immediate biopsy in the city, enabling the whole process of examination, diagnosis, and surgery to be carried out in just 30 minutes – greatly benefiting patients.
Gao Han, deputy director of the Breast and Thyroid Surgery Department of the CQHCWC, said that the initiative is one of the department's efforts to improve medical technology, optimize medical procedures, and better serve the public.
It will offer more convenient, more precise, and safer medical services for patients with breast diseases, according to Gao.
