An expert from the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) in Southwest China's Chongqing gave a lecture themed on the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic on Sept 2 at the Xingchen Middle School of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area.

More than 600 teachers and students participated in the lecture, which aimed to further strengthen awareness of epidemic prevention and control in the new semester.

He Chunyan, deputy chief physician of the Children's Health Care Department of the CQHCWC, gave an in-depth explanation of the latest epidemic prevention and control requirements, how the virus works, transmission risks, early detection and treatment, personal protective measures, and the importance of vaccination.

Attending teachers and students spoke highly of the lecture, and said that they would also work to raise awareness of virus prevention and personal protection to contribute to school safety.

Moving forward, the CQHCWC will rely on the national-level early childhood development demonstration base and commit to children's health education and guidance to ensure their healthy growth.
