The Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC), located in Southwest China's Chongqing, has been taking effective and normalized COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control measures at its Qixinggang and Ranjiaba branches since the recent outbreak began.

All efforts are made to ensure the health and safety of women and children in the city.

After being warned about the new wave of the virus, the center quickly activated its emergency plan, requiring all staff not to leave Chongqing and forming a nucleic acid sampling team of 20 members.

Hospital leaders, middle-level cadres, and administrative personnel took shifts over a 24-hour period, and 13 pedestrian passageway gate machines were installed to check people's health codes and travel codes.

The center has increased its stock of consumables for nucleic acid testing in preparation for possible large-scale testing. It has also stored various medical supplies to satisfy the full-load operation of the hospital for three months, including 170,000 masks, 20,000 medical caps, and 1,000 pairs of medical rubber examination gloves.

Disinfection and sterilization were also carried out for 57 sets of equipment and 130 boxes of incoming materials.

Equipped with three polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification machines, five extraction machines, and 44 qualified testing technicians, the hospital is able to test up to 850 samples each day, and issue reports for samples sent by fever and emergency departments within 4-6 hours.

The CQHCWC has promoted epidemic prevention and control measures on its official website and WeChat account, and strengthened nucleic acid testing and vaccination among staff. Now more than 94.3 percent of them have been vaccinated.

It has also intensified training and drills for epidemic prevention and control, carrying out related training and examinations 17 times and organizing emergency exercises.

In addition, comprehensive and strict supervision and regulation has been adopted in the hospital, especially for the inpatient and fever departments.
