Two programs at the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC), located in Southwest China's Chongqing, will receive funds from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).

The NSFC released the review results about the programs it will fund in 2021 on Aug 18.

One of the center's programs, carried out by Liu Lubin, director of the Gynecological Pelvic Floor and Oncology Department, was approved as a "general program", the first of its kind in the hospital.

The other one, carried out by Guo Jing of the Reproductive Medicine Center, was approved as a youth fund program.

In recent years, the CQHCWC has focused on scientific research, building research platforms, formulating a series of measures, and cultivating talent to promote scientific research development.

As a result, the quality and quantity of scientific research projects and papers published have both increased.

In 2021, the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the CQHCWC will further deepen scientific and technological reforms, advance the construction of research platforms, and build a good environment for innovation and development.

Over the next five years, it will work toward the coordinated development of medicine, education and research, achieve new breakthroughs in key technologies in the field of maternal and child health, and put new research into real clinical practice. The aim is to achieve more scientific breakthroughs, cultivate more scientific and technological talent, and advance the international and modern development of the hospital.
