CQHCWC hosts third session of youth health summer camp
A summer camp themed around on healthcare for youth was held at the Lizi township central primary school in Fengdu county, Chongqing in Southwest China on June 27.
The Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) launched the event in 2019 to explore ways of promoting health among youth.
This year marks the third session of the summer camp, which has become a youth health public welfare brand of CQHCWC.
Activities during the event were themed around life education, nutritional guidance, psychological counseling, and the realization of self-worth.
Considering many local youths are left-behind children whose grandparents generally have a low level of education, an adolescent reproductive health lesson was provided to teach them about sex safety and preventing sexual assault.
A lesson on adolescent nutrition was also offered to teach children how to eat healthily.
A variety of other activities and lessons were also offered to help young people deal with interpersonal tension and anxiety before exams and help them establish the values of integrity, kindness, boldness, and perseverance.
Training was also offered to medical workers at Fengdu county's maternal and child care service center and township health center in an effort to improve local adolescent health care services, according to officials from CQHCWC.
