Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) organized a promotional event for mother-and-baby health handbooks from April 1 to May 13 in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, in order to provide guidance for related work.

After listening to reports, undertaking on-site visits, reviewing materials and staging discussions, experts from CQHCWC began promoting the correct use of mother-and-baby health handbooks in 14 districts and counties including Youyang county, Wuxi county, Jiangbei district and Zhongxian county.

They surveyed the delivery of mother-and-baby health handbooks in the areas in terms of their promotion and use, educational value, assessment, publicity and training, and learned about the handbooks' distribution at 31 medical and health institutions.

On-site feedback and guidance were provided in response to problems such as the insufficient promotion of the handbooks, their incomplete coverage and deficient information, among other issues.

The event helped pinpoint problems in the promotion of the handbooks in various districts and counties, paved the way for future improvements, and ultimately provided support for the safety of mothers and children in the city.
