Hosted by Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC), Chongqing's first training course for obstetrics and gynaecology and pediatric clinical nursing instructors was held in the city from April 27 to 28.

Nearly 200 clinical nursing instructors from all levels of maternal and child health institutions in the city participated in the two-day training, which aimed to improve the overall level of clinical nursing instructors and promote the construction of high-quality maternal and child health instructor teams.

Well-known nursing experts from the nursing school of the Army Medical University, the nursing school of Chongqing Medical University and West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University offered lessons at the event. The training covered topics ranging from the development of nursing education and training management systems to the assessment and evaluation of teaching staff members and the application of teaching methods.

The training course featured a combination of theoretical teaching and standardized practical operations.

Dan Yang, vice-president of CQHCWC, addressed the launch ceremony of the training course, pointing out that only a first-class instructor team can create a first-class nurse team, fundamentally improve the quality of nursing services and truly provide satisfactory services to patients.

She added that nursing staff members, as an important part of maternal and child health service system, play a pivotal role in the country's development of maternal and child healthcare and ensure high-quality maternal and child health services.

Moving forward, CQHCWC will give full play to its leading role in the Maternal and Child Health Specialty Alliance and join hands with domestic and foreign maternal and child health service providers to focus on talent development, the creation of clinical nursing instructor teams and the improvement of nursing personnel's comprehensive qualities and abilities.

Yu Youxia, director of CQHCWC's nursing department, said that the training course is scheduled to be held regularly each year to improve the comprehensive service quality of nursing staff and better serve the people.
