Gynecological Pelvic Floor and Oncology Department
The Gynecological Pelvic Floor and Oncology Department of Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) is an advantageous specialty facility of the hospital. It is the first department in Southwest China to diagnose and treat female pelvic floor dysfunction diseases and gynecological tumor diseases.
The department continuously improves diagnosis and treatment levels and expands new technologies and new projects. It is a member unit of the pelvic floor rehabilitation training center of the Biofeedback Foundation of Europe, the "Yi Nuo Chuan Fang" pelvic floor rehabilitation training center of the China Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, and the western gynecological oncology specialty alliance.
It offers services including screening, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of female pelvic floor and oncology diseases, providing patients with a full range of diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation services.
The department currently has 41 patient beds and more than 30 medical staff members, among which eight have doctorates and master's degrees, and 12 have intermediate and senior titles.
Specialties
The department has reached the advanced domestic level for diagnosing and treating pelvic floor dysfunction diseases, inventing and innovating several pelvic floor reconstruction techniques. It can perform various pelvic floor surgeries through diversified methods, including anterior, middle and posterior pelvic organ prolapse reconstruction, anti-urinary incontinence surgeries, surgical correction of genital malformation, and genital fistula repair. The surgeries involve limited trauma, achieve significant results and have a low recurrence rate.
In the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological benign and malignant tumors, the department can carry out transabdominal and laparoscopic surgeries, which are minimally invasive, specialized and individualized.
The department is also equipped with a series of pelvic floor and oncology-assisted diagnosis and treatment technologies, including urodynamic testing, pelvic floor function screening, pelvic floor function rehabilitation, and more, satisfying the various needs of patients.
Research and teaching
The department has achieved fruitful results in the research of female pelvic floor and oncology diseases. It has presided over two projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, four projects of Chongqing Science and Technology Commission, and two projects of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission (formerly the Chongqing Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission).
It has obtained more than 10 national invention and utility model patents and published 11 Science Citation Index (SCI) papers and more than 40 national core journal papers.
