The Cervical Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) is among the first batch of municipal-level medical specialty departments in Chongqing. It is a national teaching base offering cervical cancer screening technical guidance to China's rural physicians. It also provides technical guidance on cervical cancer screening for maternal and child health care institutions in Chongqing's districts and counties.

The center integrates clinical treatment, scientific research and teaching. It has five professional clinical physicians, 10 nurses and six assistant doctors and is equipped with professional medical facilities. It boasts leading domestic diagnosis, treatment and teaching equipment such as HPV-DNA detection, HPV E6/E7mRNA detection, HPV L-1 shell protein detection, the thinprep cytology test (TCT), ATP non-invasive treatment instruments, colposcopy and a cervical surgery synchronous teaching system.

It provides standardized screening and treatment of lower genital tract diseases, especially various vaginitis diseases, cervicitis and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), among others. The facility's good clinical results often satisfy patients.

The center's professional team has strong scientific research capabilities, having led research on 11 scientific projects at the national, provincial and municipal levels. It has won many awards for scientific and technological progress from Chongqing and the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission (formerly the Chongqing Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission).

As the technical guidance center for the cervical cancer screening project in Chongqing, the facility has jointly carried out clinical and teaching work with county-level people's hospitals and maternal and child health care hospitals in the city. It has supervised and taught a large number of specialist physicians.

In recent years, a standardized diagnosis and treatment network for cervical diseases in Chongqing has been established, through national and municipal cervical disease professional study classes and online teaching, among other steps. The center regularly sends specialist physicians to the countryside to support education, offers exceptional guidance to lower-level hospitals and cooperates with many district and county maternal and child health care hospitals to build a vaginoscope online consultation system and referral system for difficult cases.
