The Family Planning Department of Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) was established in 1985. It is a clinical department integrating clinical medicine, women's healthcare and family planning guidance.

The department is responsible for family planning guidance and the referral of complicated cases in Chongqing and its surrounding districts and counties.

It has 19 medical workers, including five obstetricians and gynecologists and 11 nurses. Among these medical workers, three have senior titles, four have intermediate titles, and three have master's degrees or higher-level degrees.

CQHCWC is among the first batch of hospitals in Chongqing to obtain the high-quality service hospital title for the national Post-Abortion Care (PAC) public welfare project. It is also the first national PAC public welfare regional demonstration hospital in Chongqing.

At present, there are 13 PAC senior consultants in the CQHCWC department.

To care for women undergoing abortions and guide scientific contraception, the department provides high-quality family planning services and contraception guidance for tens of thousands of women every year, effectively reducing the occurrence of repeated abortions.

The department has an independent family planning clinic (including a preoperative clinic, a postoperative clinic and a high-risk clinic), four separate operation rooms, multiple functional areas and multiple color ultrasound instruments that can assist in complicated operations.

Scope of diagnosis and treatment:

  • Induced abortion for early pregnancy;

  • High-risk family planning-related diseases;

  • Insertion/removal of intrauterine (IUD);

  • Insertion/removal of contraceptive implants;
