The Nutrition Department of Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) focuses on medical care at its specialized nutrition outpatient clinic and offers standardized clinical nutrition support.

The department aims to gradually form a clinical nutrition working system that integrates healthcare, education and research in clinical nutrition support, clinical nutrition teaching, nutritional food R&D, and follow-up management of nutrition, among other areas.

The department focuses on nutritional guidance for periods of pregnancy preparation, pregnancy, delivery and postpartum, nutritional management of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), weight management of female infertility, male infertility, menstrual irregularity and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), nutritional conditioning for malnutrition, improvement of functional gastrointestinal disorders, perioperative period nutritional support, nutrition and healthcare guidance and counseling for children and adolescents, pregnant women, menopausal women, and management of high-risk individuals.

The department's nutrition outpatient clinic is equipped with various types of advanced medical equipment. The inpatient department boasts an enteral nutrition preparation room, which standardizes nutritional risk screening, assessment, supportive care and nutrition education. The enteral nutrition preparation room has also developed a rational nutritional support treatment program for different patients' diseases and nutritional status, giving personalized nutrition guidance.

The department's medical team was awarded the title of "the excellence team" by the special committee of parenteral enteral nutrition of the Chongqing Medical Association for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019. The team was also honored as an "excellent department of nutrition outpatient work" in 2019 by the professional committee of nutritional physicians of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.

Special diagnosis and treatment items of the department: Nutritional management for GDM, hyperemesis gravidarum; full-term nutritional support for spontaneous vaginal delivery; nutritional support for perioperative period fast-track surgery and patients with tumors; PCOS weight management; nutritional support for better growth and development; and enteral nutrition support therapy for critically ill patients, etc.
