Prenatal ultrasound quality control project launched in Chongqing

To promote the prenatal ultrasound technology in Chongqing and improve the quality management and medical service levels of prenatal ultrasounds, Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) held a conference on prenatal ultrasound technology training on Dec 4. The event marked the launch of the Chongqing prenatal ultrasound quality control project.
The training session was attended by Liao Yongqian, the health and hygiene inspector from Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, and Zhang Hua, president of CQHCWC.
In addition, more than 110 medical peers were invited to share their experience in quality control of prenatal ultrasound screening.
Ran Haitao, president of Chongqing Association of Ultrasound in Medicine and Engineering, and Ran Suzhen, director of CQHCWC's Ultrasound Department, gave speeches on prenatal ultrasound quality control and the establishment, operation and promotion of a prenatal ultrasound training system. They also introduced the city's promotional efforts in these areas.
As the home of Chongqing Center for Healthcare Quality Management in Obstetrics and Chongqing Prenatal Ultrasound Screening Training Base, CQHCWC will work with districts and counties to build a network of prenatal ultrasound screening for birth defects, referral of difficult cases, medical skills teaching and training and ultrasound quality control. The hospital will also optimize ultrasound technology and quality control methods.
At the same time, CQHCWC will promote the flow of high-quality medical resources to all medical institutions at all levels in the city, improve grassroots medical technologies and quality, raise the city's overall prenatal screening level, reduce the risks of birth defects and guarantee maternal and infant safety, among other goals.
