After two days of fierce competition held on Nov 14 and 15, a team composed of one attending physician and four resident trainees from Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) stood out from 41 teams in the fourth Chongqing clinical skills competition for resident physicians with standardized training and won the second-place prize.

Hosted by Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, the contest was divided into preliminary and final competitions, covering 57 clinical operations and 37 clinical thinking exercises in various specialties. All participants needed to quickly analyze, judge and make corresponding clinical operations based on the information provided at the start of the competition.

To achieve success at the competition, CQHCWC created a detailed training plan for the team before the contest.

To improve its prevention and control measures for the novel coronavirus, CQHCWC also provided a full-process exercise in this year's training for the participating team. The training covered case detection, reporting, isolation, standardized diagnosis and treatment, nucleic acid testing, hospital infection prevention and control, and medical workers' protection.

The fact that CQHCWC's team won the second-place prize at the competition is recognition of its members' professional clinical skills and a great affirmation of the results of CQHCWC's standardized residency training program.
