An important meeting on training experts for the grade evaluation of maternity and children healthcare (MCH) institutions was held on July 10 in Southwest China's Chongqing.
The meeting was sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission and undertaken by the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC).
Zhang Hua, CQHCWC president, presided over the meeting.
A number of national-level MCH institutions grade evaluation experts were invited to explain the policies, evaluation standards, implementation rules, as well as the review characteristics and evaluation methods of MCH institutions at the meeting. It would play a guiding role in grade evaluation of Chongqing's MCH institutions.
At the meeting, Zhou Lin, deputy director of the municipal health commission, stressed that the grade evaluation of MCH institutions was an important means to promote the standardization construction of MCH institutions.
Zhou said it was an important measure to improve the technical level and service capacity of MCH institutions, as well as an essential way to ensure the safety of mothers and infants -- and to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.
Zhou put forward three requirements for the city's MCH institutions grade evaluation.
He said evaluation experts should strictly enforce the city's admittance system for midwifery medical institutions.
Zhou said evaluation experts need to fully understand the review rules, strictly enforce the evaluation standards, and achieve fairness and openness.
He added that all evaluation experts in future reviews need to strictly abide by relevant disciplinary requirements, to ensure the authenticity and effectiveness of the evaluation results.
