During its "Beautiful Hospital" improvement program, the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) made great efforts to ensure the harmless treatment and standardized disposal of its medical and domestic waste.

To standardize the collection, storage, transfer and registration of medical waste disposals, CQHCWC's Logistics Support Section and its Infection Controlling Section regularly and irregularly carried out joint inspections.

At the same time, the Clinical Laboratory added and installed sewage treatment equipment.

After sewage is treated at the laboratory, it is discharged into the hospital's sewage treatment station and then discharged after disinfection.

All indexes of sewage treatment in the hospital are tested according to the GB 18466-2005 standard and all sewage is then discharged into the municipal pipe network after reaching the standard.

Furthermore, the CQHCWC has carried out technical training and various activities for garbage classification and treatment.

It has publicized the significance and skills of garbage classification to inform employees and patients -- and encouraged everyone to classify garbage, to facilitate further treatment at the later stage.
