At an on-site display of 10 kinds of agricultural products from Jinxi – a town under the administration of Chongqing's district of Qianjiang -- hospital staff was encouraged to buy goods to help relieve poverty.

Officials said that more than 600 CQHCWC staff came to the event and they bought nearly 10,000 yuan ($1,434) worth of agricultural products, including specialty bacon, sausage and honey.

At the beginning of the 2019, the state government issued a series of policies and measures to improve people's well-being, according to a Xinhua report.

China is expected to lift over 10 million people out of poverty by the end of 2019, and about 340 poor counties are expected to be removed from the poverty list.

To date, the CQHCWC has conducted five poverty alleviation programs, raising more than 200,000 yuan.

Officials said it will go towards fighting poverty in 2020.
