Foreign expert invited to give lectures at CQHCWC

Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children, -- or the CQHCWC -- held the Children's Food Allergy Prevention Progress Forum on Oct 17-18, according to the organizers. 

Special lectures and an academic seminar were organized during the event, with a total of 140 pediatricians attending. 

The forum was seen as serving as a platform for the promotion of clinical diagnosis and the treatment of children's food allergies in the city of Chongqing in southwestern China.

It focused on strengthening pediatricians' understanding of progress in food allergy prevention and treatment, so as to regulate the prevention and treatment of food allergies.  

The event invited Professor Amal Halim Assa'ad, director of Allergy Immunization of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in the United States, to the CQHCWC. She gave a special lecture on the advancements in international children's food allergy prevention and treatment, as well as clinical diagnosis and treatment of food allergy in the US.   

More than 20 medical staff from administrative departments of the hospital and Pediatric Outpatient Department attended the academic seminar chaired by Wang Nianrong, director of the Department of Child Health of CQHCWC. 

Two doctors from the Child Health Department and the Pediatric Clinic reported on the current status of child allergy diagnosis and treatment in their departments. 

Professor Assa'ad provided professional guidance on allergy detection and treatment to the staff and shared with them international advanced allergy detection technologies. She also provided valuable suggestions for the development direction of scientific research work and the design of scientific research projects. 

The professor also invited the medical staff of CQHCWC to visit Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in the future.
