The 2019 Annual Congress of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine was held in Hamburg, Germany on Dec 5 – and Chongqing played a part. 

Zhang Hua, president of the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children, attended the congress and gave a speech at the event, along with Zhang Yaozong, vice-director of Intensive Care Unit and Wang Lan, vice-director of Obstetrics Department. 

Zhang's speech was entitled "Introduction to Maternal Management and Rescue System in Chongqing". 

In the paper he elaborated on the development of the women and children's health management system in China and comprehensively analyzed the current status of the construction of the Chongqing Critical Maternal and Critical Care Center. 

Zhang Yaozong and Wang Lan also delivered speeches respectively on maternal bloodstream infections and high-risk management of twin mothers, which were well received by experts at the meeting. 

After the meeting, CQHCWC experts discussed the progress being made in the multidisciplinary collaborative management of high-risk pregnant women with their German counterparts. 

The Annual Congress of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine is an annual event that exerts considerable influence in the field of intensive medicine in Germany and Europe. 

It aims to cultivate and promote the professional skills of medical staff in emergency treatment through interdisciplinary cooperation.
