The Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (Chongqing Maternity Hospital, Chongqing Institute of Reproduction and Genetics) held an obstetric clinical practical technology training class, the sixth session of its kind, in Chongqing Municipality, from November 8 to 9, 2019.
The training is expected to better improve the technical level and quality of medical care of obstetrics, cultivate district and county level obstetric doctors, and standardize obstetric diagnosis and treatment.
More than 140 obstetric professionals, including doctors and nurses, from obstetric quality control centers and maternal and child health centers of all districts and counties in Chongqing participated in the training.
The training course is divided into theoretical teaching and skill training. The content of the theoretical course includes quality control in the delivery room, first aid in pregnancy hypertension, electronic fetal heart monitoring, evaluation of episiotomy, treatment of high-risk pregnancy, and postpartum hemorrhaging of the cicatricial uterus. The skill operation training includes forceps delivery, free body position delivery, perineum laceration IV degree suturing, and episiotomy so as to promote appropriate obstetric technology.
The training will effectively promote the application of appropriate technology to grass-root level hospitals and further standardize the clinical treatment and clinical practical technology of obstetric medical staff. In addition, it will help standardize delivery process treatment and reduce the rate of cesarean sections, which will lay a solid foundation for comprehensively improving the clinical technology level of obstetrics at the grass-root level in Chongqing.
