The Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (CQHCWC) held its Second Staff Workers Games in the playground of Longshan Elementary School in Chongqing on October 19.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Wang Jian, secretary of the center's Party Committee and also its vice-president, noted that medical workers are the guardians of public health and pioneers in determining a healthy lifestyle.

The CQHCWC will take advantage of the opportunity to enhance the enthusiasm of its faculty members for sports, nurture a group of high-quality and energetic personnel, and contribute more efforts to public physical health, Wang emphasized in her address.

She also said that all athletes, referees and other participants in the event should closely adhere to the medical center's core values of "sincerity, benevolence, the love for learning, and innovation", follow the disciplines and rules in the events and demonstrate their positive image to ensure the games’ success.

The staff workers games consisted of two collective events, which were rope skipping and three-legged races, and three individual events: a 100-meter race, standing long jump, and single rope skipping.

The children's health department took first place for its collective and all-round performance, while the clinical laboratory department and the first & second wards of gynecology won the second prizes, and the institute of reproduction and genetics and the departments of breast surgery and ultrasound took home the third prizes.

A total of 172 participants including Zeng Weihuan and Wang Weiwei won individual prizes. Meanwhile, 25 units including the institute of reproduction and genetics and the department of clinical laboratory claimed medals in the category of collective events.

Furthermore, six units including the neonatal and ultrasound departments were given Outstanding Performance awards.

The games made a full demonstration of the medical center's spirit of unity, mutual support and pioneering, promoted its cultural-ethnic progress, and reached anticipated results.
