The "World Breastfeeding Week" lasts from August 1 to 7 every year. To encourage and support breastfeeding, broaden the connotation of breastfeeding, and create a social atmosphere of loving babies and mothers, on August 1, 2019, in the outpatient hall of the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children, an interactive and instructional lecture under the theme of "Support Breastfeeding" was held, which kicked off the series of activities in the "28th World Breastfeeding Week".

During the event, Shi Yuanju, the hospital's national breastfeeding consultant and nurse practitioner, explained in detail the factors affecting breastfeeding and the breastfeeding skills, and provided guidance for the mothers-to-be on the spot; Sun Meixia, a senior lecturer in a pregnancy school, delivering a live commentary and demonstration on the newborn nursing knowledge and skills that the pregnant woman and family members were most concerned about. Three fathers-to-be performed on-the-spot bathing and umbilical cord care for babies, winning applause from the pregnant woman.

The competition on breastfeeding knowledge was also welcomed by the pregnant woman.

To promote breastfeeding requires the support of medical staff and all walks of life.
