On July 11, 2019, sponsored by United Nations Children's Fund (hereinafter referred to as "UNICEF"), undertaken by the National Center for Women's and Children's Health of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and co-organized by the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children, the 2019 Promotion Meeting on the Adolescent Health and Development Project was opened in Chongqing. Song Li, deputy director of the Department of Maternal and Child Health of the National Health Commission, Anuradha Narayan, section chief of Health, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, UNICEF China, He Lifang, deputy inspector of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, Fan Honglian, director of the Maternal and Child Health Division, and more than 180 project managers and teachers from 11 provinces (autonomous regions/municipalities) attended the event.

In her speech, Song Li emphasized the importance of adolescent health, and called for strengthening the systematic development of adolescent health development strategies, promoting multi-sectoral cooperation, integrating adolescent health work into key work, continuously expanding connotations, and promoting the healthy growth of adolescents in multiple dimensions.

In the opening ceremony, He Lifang pointed out that Chongqing has issued a number of documents and proposed a number of safeguard measures, attaching great importance to the health and development of adolescents; The Municipal Health Commission, the Municipal Education Commission and other departments have issued an operational plan for the adolescent sexual and reproductive health promotion project, and the mechanism has been improved.

At the meeting, Huang Xiaona, a maternal and child health expert from the UNICEF, and Zheng Ruimin, deputy director of the National Center for Women's and Children's Health of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, introduced the latest progress and the overall plan on the adolescent health and development project. At the same time, relevant experts discussed, explained and reported on the construction of the 12320 Adolescent Health Information Consultation Service Platform and the 2019 Work Plan for the Adolescent Health and Development Project.

Since the launch of the Project, the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children has been committed to adolescent health care. The Women's Health Department of the hospital has a special adolescent health clinic to provide health and counseling services for adolescents. The Women's Health Department targets adolescents of different ages, such as primary school, middle school, and university students. From time to time, there are health education classes on campus, and departmental physicians also solve various health problems for adolescents through adolescent QQ exchange groups. In the past two years, the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children has held a number of municipal technical trainings on adolescent health care, helping built the grassroots adolescent health care team.
As a 3A Maternal and Child Health Hospital integrating clinical medical care, maternal and child health care, and scientific research and teaching, Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children will continue to play a leading role in adolescent service management, adolescent health care and adolescent development.
